Same old weight lifting routine putting you in a rut? Blast through your plateau and try something new by incorporating Mixed Martial Arts sport specific workouts you can do from the comfort of your home, or dorm room.
1. STRETCHING

MMA is a very explosive and dynamic sport so before you do anything, it is imperative that you stretch to prevent injuries and tears. Stretching improves performance for fighting and is the key to staying young.
2. SHADOWBOXING

Get in your fighting stance, put your hands up and start throwing some punches. Shadowboxing is a great workout that challenges your muscles in ways its not used to as well as a good cardio regiment to work up a sweat and work off that greasy cafeteria food sitting in your stomach.
The Campus Throne recommends these combos to start out with,
- Jab, Cross,
- Jab, Cross, Left knee
- Jab, Cross, Hook, Right Knee
- Cross, Hook, Right knee
Try these combos in succession in three minute intervals with a minute rest in between to mimic the actual rounds of a fight.
3. SQUATS

Knockout power comes from your legs and as Rampage Jackson claims, your ass, and no exercise challenges those areas as the Squat. Perform these regularly and you too can knock off peoples blocks
4. LUNGES
Another exercise that will develop power in your legs and hips. This exercise also incorporates certain elements of a wrestling takedown that will improve your ability to take a fight to the ground.
5. CORE EXERCISES

The most important exercise are core exercises that will challenge your abs and midsection areas. Having a strong core is the back bone of excelling in any and all sports. Include situps, crunches, leg lifts in your core regiment regularly to improve the strength in your midsection.
