Campus Booze: Sam Adam’s Summer Ale

In College, You go to great lengths to buy alcohol, you even may get to the point where selling your books back early to get some extra drinking cash is a great idea.

Sam Adams Summer Ale is a product of the Sam Adams Brewing Company in Boston, Massachusetts. Summer Ale can be found in keg and bottle form. It is an American Wheat, which is brewed with malted wheat, lemon zest and grains of paradise. Summer Ale is perfect for a warm summer day.

When to Drink Summer Ale

Summer Ale is a season brew that is popular during the summer months (duh). It a little more expensive (ranging about 7-8 bucks for a 6 pack of bottles) than most beloved college beers; however, it also has more flavor and has a completely different taste than its competitors. Summer Ale is more of a sipping beer, this is not something you want to waste beer bonging.

Summer Ale is perfect for relaxing after a hard day at work, relaxing by the pool, or feasting at a BBQ. It shows that you can stray from your cheap boozing ways and pick up something slightly more sophisticated during the summer months. It says “I’m not only a party animal, but I enjoy the smooth taste of an American Beer.” It is summer, it is time to give your taste buds a treat, and Summer Ale is just the beer to do it for you. So when you host that cook-out this summer, we highly suggest keeping some Summer Ale on hand.

When Not to Drink Summer Ale:

If you are hosting a house party where you are expected to provide the booze or you a little low on cash, then we highly recommend getting a more economical beer, such as Keystone. The fact of the matter is: at a party most people are looking to get shitfaced, opposed to looking for a good quality beer. These partiers will just be glad that you had some alcohol on hand, rather than what it tastes like. However, you may want to keep some 6 packs on hand, for yourself, to show that while you are the master of throwing an amazing party, you are the sophisticated party animal and not some Average Joe.
