The summer is known for its action movies with very little story but big explosions. The video game industry is no different from this trend. It’s a very rare thing when a game comes out during summer that’s worth noticing. That game is Infamous and its available now for the Playstation 3.

Infamous is a game where the decisions you make effect how the story plays out. You are Cole, a messenger boy, who delivers a package that blows up and takes with it six blocks of the city. You wake up and find out you’re the only survivor and that the government has put the city you love in a lock down. Gangs now run the streets shooting at will and all chaos has erupted. It’s your job to either save the city you love or destroy it with your new found “super powers.”

Super Powers you say? Yea you heard me right but you’re not shooting web from your hand or have the un-godly ability to talk to “fish” like some super heroes. Cole has the power of shooting electricity from his hands. He will fry bad guys or grind on electric rails. Cole lives in a city where he can either use his new found powers for good or he could use them to enslave those around him.

The choices you make in impact the ending. If you choose to be “good” you’ll have an ending that’s more favorable to the city’s inhabitants. If you choose to be “bad” you’ll see a darker ending. The choice is up to you. This really adds to its replay ability. Now stop reading this and go out and pick up Infamous, you won’t be disappointed.

Pros: Different ways to play the game; Ability to run around where ever you want; Shocking someone never seems to get old.

Cons: The graphics look a little dated; Main story is only about ten hours long – wish it was longer

The Campus Throne gives this game a 4.5 out of 5
