Origins of Punch Out
Little Mac is back! Everyone’s favorite underdog from the 1980s gets reborn with the remake of one of the most popular titles in gaming history, Nintendo’s Punch-Out was released on May 18th.
It all started with Mike Tyson’s Punch Out for NES, the original Nintendo. (Back when Mike Tyson was the best boxer in the world, and didn’t have to bite his opponents to win a match). Many of you might not remember the original, but have played the Super Nintendo version, Super Punch Out.

They are bringing back all of the old characters, and even adding a couple new ones. They added a two player mode, where you can knock the living Wii shit out of one of your friends.

Why it’s a Campus Throne Pick
- Bad ass theme song from the video-game heavens.
- Sweet underlying story with the whole underdog prevailing kind of theme.
- Originated the first person boxing game, which helped pave the way for today’s top boxing game Fight Night.

The reason we like it because of the new interactive play that was developed by Nintendo Wii, making the game even better to play. Great game to play with some friends, even better to watch hotties kick some ass. Perfect party game, or good excuse to invite the campus hottie back to your dorm.
