Many people who drink take shots of tequila at least once in their life. It is a very strong drink to handle. In this article, I am going to give some simple steps into helping you have the best tequila experience.

BEFORE THE SHOT

Try to eat something that will not bother your stomach or might make you throw up. Also, do not eat right before the shot. Have a nice size meal a couple of hours before you go out. Try not to have any alcoholic beverages before the tequila shot because it might make you throw up. Tequila is very strong! Figure out what type of tequila shot you want. Most of the time, the more expensive the shot, the smoother it goes down. But if you want to just start out, try Jose Cuervo. It is a popular brand of tequila. But hey, if this recession is not killing you and you have money to spend, go for an expensive one.

ORDERING THE SHOT

You tell the bartender what type of shot you want and he will give it to you. He will also hand you salt and a slice of lime. The salt and the slice of lime is basically a chaser for the tequila.

1st STEP

The first step into taking a tequila shot is to lick your hand. Just a little lick on the top of your hand or the skin in between your thumb and forefinger will be enough. This is going to be used for the salt. (Try to lick the hand that you will not use to hold the glass for taking the shot.)

2nd STEP

You put a small amount of salt on your skin where you licked it. It will stick to the skin because of the saliva.

3rd STEP

Take the slice of lime that the bartender gave you and hold it in the hand you have the salt on (like the picture above). Hold the lime with your thumb and index finger. Now your chasers are ready. 4th STEP

Now that you are ready, the next couple of things you do should be done quickly. First you lick the salt off of your hand. Then you take the shot of tequila. Try to make it go down in one gulp.
