This is probably one of the most difficult tasks anybody will have in trying to accomplish. There are many things you are going to need. Here is a list of some things you will find helpful in trying to accomplish this difficult mission. Whether having to do an epic study cram or having a room and bed to yourself with a hottie, you never know when this skill could come in handy…
BE READY MENTALLY
Start with your brain. You have to tell yourself that you are going to do this. Only think positive. If you think positive and reassure yourself that you can stay awake, you can do it. Your mind controls everything.
COFFEE AND ENERGY DRINKS
Coffee is going to be a major factor in staying awake. It will keep you awake and will not be as much money as energy drinks. The caffeine in coffee can make most people wide awake. However if you do not drink coffee or you need more of a boost to stay awake, energy drinks are the answer. The 5 hour energy drinks are amazing. There truly is no crash after and they keep you wide awake for about 4-5 hours. Other energy drinks, such as Red Bull, do keep you awake but the crash after is a killer. If you have a crash, staying awake for 72 hours is going to be extremely difficult. Stick to coffee and 5 hour energy drinks and you should be safe.
LIGHT EXERCISE
Make sure you walk around and get some fresh air. If you stay inside too much you start to get tired and lazy. Make sure you move around and go outside. Do not work out or over-exercise because you will then tire your body out and all you will think about is sleep. You need all the energy you have to staying awake for three days. Walking outside and seeing the sun will keep you awake and get your mind away from falling asleep.
EAT HEALTHY

Eating healthy is essential. If you eat junk food, you become lazy and it is not good for your body and mind. By eating healthy, you are stimulating your mind and keeping your body in good condition. Healthy food will give your body the energy it needs to stay awake. Anything that has a lot of sugar in it will give you a good rush but will then give you a nice crash. Healthy food is your only diet for these three days.
SLEEP BEFORE THE 3 DAYS
Make sure you get plenty of rest before the three days of hell. Sleep well and do not make yourself tired. Be well rested around 4-5 days before the 72 hours you are staying awake. If you are not tired and get plenty of rest a couple of days before the three days, that energy will be used to staying awake.
DISTRACTIONS

Make sure you have plenty of distractions around you. Remember that when you concentrate on something, time always goes by fast. You must have a television, video and board games, and movies ready to be used. Also, tell your friends about this so they can help you stay awake by hanging out with you and help keep your mind off of sleep.
