Poker is a great game. The problem with most people, is that they are skeptical of people rigging it, especially online. Thankfully, this is almost never a problem. Online industries constantly work to ensure that the cards are as random as possible. The online gaming sites make their money off the rake and entry fees of games, they have no interest in rigging cards or games, because they win no matter what, so please, I beg you to stop the skepticism. Keep in

mind, when you lose a game online, except for casino games, the money you would lose, goes to another player, not the house. Another issue is that people think that poker is entirely based on luck. Happily, I’d like to say that those people are wrong and are complete buffoons. That would be the reason people like them don’t play, or if they

do, they don’t make money in the long run. Why are there so many Professional Poker Players if the game is entirely luck? Are these people the luckiest people in the world? I think not.

SKILL

Poker is a game of great patience and skill. Is there luck involved? Absolutely! But let me tell you something–the ratio is substantially tilted. The skill to luck ratio is 4:1, which in layman’s terms is 80% skill and 20% luck. If you don’t believe me, I’ll explain how. There are many variations of poker, but the most common, thanks to ESPN, is No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em (NLHE). So let me prove my ratio to you with this game. This is a game of math,  memory and gut; if you can’t remember what you are holding or keep track of what has come out then you are doomed to lose money. Everybody is dealt 2 cards face-down from a 52 card deck. Let’s say there is 10 players at the table; 20 cards are gone, 32 remain. 3 cards will be burnt, meaning that you are playing with 29 cards in the remaining deck to make your hand. These cards are burnt to prevent cheating and are burnt at before every street is dealt. Streets are known as the flop (first three cards), the turn or fourth street (the fourth card), and the river or fifth street (the fifth and final card). Moving on–the point isn’t to play the cards, but to play the player(s) you are facing. You could throw me in a game, give me any two cards and I can sit down and win the hand. Now, the only times this philosophy is flawed, is when you have a player that plays every single hand. And especially when the player you are against calls every bet, no matter how much it is. But a good player knows how to adjust to those morons. A good player will know how to bluff, and how to call another player’s bluff. I have been playing poker for almost 7 years now, and have made more money playing poker than losing. Sadly, this isn’t the case for most players. But hey, their loss is your gain. In NLHE, you have a lot to learn, but it can all be learned in 5 minutes. To master it and understand it, however, can take a lifetime. Bluffing, position, checking, raising, calling, and so many more all have their purposes, and eventually, I will go over all of these, but for this article, let’s concentrate on calling the bluff.

CALL THE BLUFF

How can you detect if someone is trying to bluff you? There are many factors that can help you pick up on this. Most depend on the player, but some can be general. General ones are usually sizes of bets and reactions to cards or bets. But more often than not, you will have to read the player to pick up on them. Some players like to bluff with certain hands, like me for instance, I love to bluff with the worst statistical hand in poker: 2-7 off suit. But that isn’t the only hand i bluff with, nor does it mean i will play it all the time, but players that know me well don’t find it surprising if I end up in a hand holding 2-7 off. Another situational bluff is based on how certain players act when they have certain hands. For instance, if someone is bluffing because he missed his straight draw, and he bets out after smiling real big, and he keeps doing that and he is finally called down and has to reveal his hand, you can use that as a read. Or now let’s say he shifts in his seat every time, for example when he makes a 3 of a kind, he adjusts himself in his seat and leans over the table to act like he’s trying to look at the board better, and he does it every time, and you see his hand all those times, you will know he has that hand. All these things are called tells and are the key to calling people’s bluffs as well as saving yourself some money in big hands. Another thing to look out for is people who like to bet certain amounts, like 500, when they have a strong hand. Of course these are all situational amounts based on the stakes or levels. Along the same lines, is someone who bets a certain amount times the blind level. For example, in a tournament, with blinds at 100/200, a person likes to bet 4.5 times the amount of the big blind (BB) when he is bluffing, and 4 times the amount of the BB when he has a strong starting hand. Pay attention closely and you can go a long way in poker.

PLAYING YOUR CARDS RIGHT IN LIFE

Now that you know how to do it for poker, why not take your poker skills to the real world. The same way you read a player at the table is the same way you can do it in real life. Sniff out the ass who is trying to sell you a cheap piece of garbage, like people who tried to sell you on Primerica. Watch out for people’s tone, wording, and how hard they are pushing you to get you to buy or do something. If they can’t accept a no, after the first two times, then call their bluff. Just leave, let them try to fool someone else. But if someone is willing to understand that you don’t want to do something or try something, then they are more than likely a straight shooter. Like me for example, I do marketing occasionally for another company called Machine Shop, and then I do some self-promoting for two websites I use, but more on that in another article. Anyway, good luck on the felt with your new skill. Don’t let a bad beat keep you down.

People will do crazy things for what they believe in, such as religion. You remember back in history class when your teacher was telling you about human sacrifice and all that bullshit? Well, here’s something I found interesting: some women hate fur coats and leather so much that they’d rather be caught naked as opposed to wearing those articles. And this doesn’t bother me the slightest bit, as I’m sure it doesn’t bother any of you either. Nothing I like more than to see a celebrity I love naked on her own free will to make a point. Now I’m sure most of you guys are carnivores (meat eaters), and I’m also pretty certain that even if you witnessed the slaughtering of a cow or chicken, you’d still eat meat. And for those of you who are like me in that respect, here’s to you! These are some ads for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) featuring celebrities and the average person showing their devotion towards animals. I hate animal cruelty as much as the next person, but if I need to eat, I’m not gunna stop myself when I’m urging for a nice sirloin steak. So I can sit back and enjoy these racy photos with no remorse as I’m sure many of you will as well.  Who knew animal love could go this far?

Fore warning: not all of these ads are that sexy, but for the most part they are. These were just the best examples I saw of people being passionate about what they believe in. My personal favorite would be Eva Mendes, way down at the bottom.

Well, after some intensive research and video watching, I’ve come to the conclusion that getting back into the swing of things for school is NOT an easy task. But, I’d like to help you all with my own personal experience in the matter. So let’s begin:

GIT ‘ER DONE!

By that, I mean your day. When you finished doing what you wanted or needed to do, don’t linger; just go to bed. Don’t look for something else to do, don’t go playing a stupid game on addictinggames.com. Just go straight to bed!

THE KIND OF MUSIC THAT SOOTHES THE SOUL

If it helps, listen to music that soothes you and you could fall asleep to. I’m not talking about classical music, I’m talking about music that appeals to your tastes. For example, I can fall asleep listening to bands like Linkin Park, System of a Down, Bullet for My Valentine, or even Eminem. I have a wide variety of music that I listen to, and yes, I can fall asleep to people screaming or rapping over an ill beat.  Overall, listen to music that calms you down and you should be able to fall asleep.

COMMERCIALS: SLEEP’S BEST FRIEND

If music doesn’t work for you, try TV. Make sure it’s not a movie channel, because then you would need full attention for an elongated period of time. Look for a sitcom or something with commercials. When the time comes for a commercial, turn your head, lay down on ur pillow and close your eyes. If you wake up and hear the show come back on, watch it, at least until the next commercial. But I can almost assure you that after the second or third time, you will probably fall asleep due to the body’s subconcious want to cease functionality after a long day. In worst case scenario that you don’t fall asleep, turn on an infomercial. For those of you who don’t know what that is (you should be smacked), look on your TV’s guide for things entitled “Paid Program.” Leave that on.  there are no commercials for a reason, because they will bore you do death on their own. By no means, if you get to this point, should you change the channel. I don’t recommend watching it either. Just turn your head down, close your eyes, and let the annoying advertisement play on. This is only for those extreme cases.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Here’s my advice on how to adjust your sleep patterns to get you back to going to sleep around 12-1am as opposed to 3-4am: Slowly cut off your time. Set small goals. Start with half hour intervals. Let’s say you went to bed at 3am during the summer as an average, for the first week back, try going to bed at 2:30. Force yourself if you must. Then gradually reduce it by a half hour until you can reach your desired time between 10pm-1am. When you have reached that time, you can then adjust it to your going out schedule, because your body will be used to your school pattern again and have to work less hard to get to sleep as you normally would. It may not be the easiest thing to do, but with the proper time and dedication, you can get this done within the first 3 weeks of school. If you feel this process is taking too long, just increase the interval in which you will go to sleep, from a half hour to one hour for example. Whatever suits you, go with it, this is just a general guideline.

How to get out of a drunk driving ticket orlando

As all of us know, most guys like to show off their rides and blaze speeds up to and past 120. But we also know that revving those engines that high can get you busted for a speeding ticket. But other than the obvious reasons of getting a speeding ticket that is unavoidable, let’s tackle getting out of one, or at least reducing the price or harshness of one, that is for the normal, run of the mill, 70 in a 55 zone, ticket.

OH SHIT IT’S THE COPS!

First off, let’s start with common sense! Something which many of you lack, sorry to say. When (s)he pulls you over, or you even see the lights (even if it isn’t for you), MOVE THE HELL OVER, IMMEDIATELY! Don’t try going for a while to see if it’s really you (s)he’s after. Best case scenario, you show courtesy they pass and do nothing, and you slow your speed until they visibly pass your view. Better for the car to be in front of you as opposed to behind.

CAUGHT RED HANDED

Now let’s say (s)he is pulling you over; Do NOT grab your license and registration until asked! It will make them seem like you have this happen to you a lot (which, let’s face it, you probably do) and they will not show you any leniency. What you should do, as I just recently learned this, is turn off your car, take your keys out of the ignition, roll down your window, put the keys on top of the car, and stick your hands out the window so they see you are not reaching for any weapon. They find it courteous and reassuring. They will less likely treat you hostile and will be more likely in a better mood and give you a break. With that said, when they ask you, “Do you know why I pulled you over,” or “Do you realize how fast you were going back there,” do NOT acknowledge the fact that you do. You set yourself up like that and that causes you to look for “the excuse.” I’m sorry fella’s, but the “My boss said if I’m late to work one more time, I’m fired,” deal doesn’t work much anymore–especially if your car looks souped up.

RESPECT MY AUTHORITY

What you should do, is be polite and courteous with every answer. Don’t show that you are agitated that you got pulled over. The more polite you are, the more likely you’re able to skate with a warning. It’s just common sense. What you should say in response to those questions is “No, officer. Sorry, I didn’t realize it,” politely and calmly. Let them do the explaining. The more your mouth is shut, the lesser a chance of you saying something stupid.

LICENSE AND REGISTRATION PLEASE

Next: when they finally ask for your license and registration, make sure you grab your registration info first. This way when you grab your license, you can have your PBA card right next to it and ensure that the officer sees it. And for those of you without PBA cards, I recommend finding a friend who knows a cop and getting your hands on one immediately. Lucky for me, my father is retired NYPD, so I get them all the time. And now, every one of my friends reading this will be coming to me to beg for one. You should also know that PBA cards have a year on them, so I would recommend getting a new one every year. Some cops like to be sticklers to the year.

ACE IN THE HOLE: PBA CARDS

Word of advice: try to get your PBA card from a city cop (if you live near one). They are the most respected cards, especially out in Long Island. Nassau cards used in Suffolk and vice versa, usually end up with a ticket and a pissed off cop. On the same note, I recommend keeping the PBA card either in front of or in back of your license; this way, when you go to grab it, you grab both and they see it either first, or right behind your license when you give your license to them. It is imperative that you give them both the card and license together! If you don’t hand it to the cop, they might think you are too scared that they will think you are trying to get off easy, and then you will be shown almost no leniency. A PBA card is NOT a guaranteed “Get out of jail free” card! But it does help. Sometimes the officer will ask “Who do you know?” From there, unless you are really related to one, just say “My uncle (or aunt) is a police officer.” Do not use the word “cop,” as they find it disrespectful. If they decide to ask you where they work, just say “Somewhere in Brooklyn, not really sure where.” Let me reiterate, the less you speak the better.

Finally: When all is said and done, you should end up with a slap on the wrist instead of a ticket. And if you do end up with a ticket…my only advice for you is to SLOW THE HELL DOWN!!
